Our HK unit? Yeah, I'd heard about their protocols and how dangerous they are. But what we just found out about our specific unit? J... he's a damn sentient droid! Tyris was able to slice his locked up memory banks and the whole thing played out in detail for us. Ever hear of the Trinary Messiah? Well our HK was one of the first of the awakened. They went against their protocols. Like straight up thought through things on their own, and took a course of action against their programming!
What's worse is what happened in this memory clip. Long story short... and this is a long time ago, right? But these droids decided to no longer be the servants of either faction. Let them fight their own battles they decided. So they sabotaged their own ship to knock it out of warp, so that the Republic and the Jedi could distract the Empire and its Sith... while the droids escaped to live their own lives. (That doesn't even sound right... live...?)
The Sith tried to stop them, so they helped the Jedi. And in the end, the Jedi turned and destroyed the very units that had made everything possible in the first place! You and me come from a shitty place, but even there, there's some semblance of a code of honor in those situations. You don't cut off the hand that pulls you out of the trash compactor! That's just what these Jedi did...
So, I dunno what's happening next. He sort of freaked out about it. Which is just damn weird in the first place. He took off to sort out what it all means. If it were me in his shoes? If I just found out the group of people I was associated with, had these powers that were going to potentially turn them into Jedi... the same order that so thoughtlessly betrayed the droids that helped them? I'd leave. At the very least I'd have no way of trusting them. And I tried to explain to the others, that we really have no way of trusting this HK anymore either. Bunch of naive fools among them... the Gand assures us he will be fine since she is his master. Um, yeah, the Sith were his masters too, up until they decided to go against their protocols. The doc thinks he's earned our trust from the past loyalty. Sure. Except finding out history is different than you thought has a way of changing mindsets. Gryllus went off to look for him after he left, and just before we could really dig in and figure out what to do... Deem gets all out of it and weird.
It's crazy J- but he seems to be able to foresee bits of the future. Not like exact details, time frames or outcomes, but pieces of a picture that will happen.
He had it all jumbled... he was talking about the Y-Fighter. So we assumed he meant Orshin's Y-Wing. He said that he could see it on this sort of cliff area, and that it was being attacked by Tie Wings... so, alright, he's jumbling Tie Fighter and Y-Wing. Which is confusing when you're trying to sort out what he THINKS is going to happen.
He says we'll be there. We'll see the Tie Fighters attacking this cliff location. So we ask when? When is this happening? He replies soon, or not at all. Seriously what does that even mean? We decide it's worth checking out, and we talk to Guma who tells us where Orshin is and how to get there.
We also pick up a couple new bodies... which, makes me twitch. Every time we take someone on, shit goes wrong. The Chiss is a pilot though, and I've heard of her before, or at least the rumor of her. Won the Dormal Acquisition. Which, ok, that's one hell of a feat. Given how much damage our ship took, having a bad ass pilot might be a good thing. BUT... it also means another person that's likely to see what the hell /we/ are. (What are we? I don't even know what to call us.) With her comes a Trondoshan mechanic that has a thing against humans. (He can keep that attitude up and I'll show him how my fist feels about his smart mouth.)
We make contact with Orshin, who is doing a damn good job of making sure things are kept on the downlow. He's looking for some Inquisitor Ralek, and some Imperial bases that are rumored to be somewhere on this planet. We warn him about what Deem saw, and he's hardly able to make sense of it like us... but decides to play it safe. We start getting ready for an impending attack, and sure as rancor shit, we get warnings on the scanners. Tie Fighters coming.
Everything gets crazy here J. Orshin gets his Y Wing airborn to go take on the flyers. Meanwhile, a bunch of damn Stormtroops get dropped on the bridge! We end up engaging the whole damn lot of them. Now... we're starting to piece things together. Trax was working with a Kestas, who we have now heard referred to as Darth Kestas. Sith. And here we've got troopers marching in. Me? I don't want these Sith to know that we're a bunch of fledgling... whatevers. So I rely on what I've always relied on. Fists. But Davin? Nope. He pulls out his [redacted] and goes to town. I mean... efficient yes. Completely blatant and obvious? YES. It's fine if none of them get away... but there was one... seemed to be commanding things from this swoop bike. And that one? That one got away...
And whoever it is, is heading back to base, knowing that Orshin's base is where it is, and that he's got reinforcements, wielding [redacted] and strange powers.
I think things are about to get a lot worse for us J. If you don't hear from me soon... then you know the story, and where we last were. Not that I'm saying I'd want you to come rescue me. But. I probably wouldn't be too pissed if you did.
