About the only thing that went smoothly the last few days, is what we did with the sand people. Cham ended up doing what they needed. Healed some of their folks, though the one he could only treat symptoms and not cure. They also had Gryllis replace the evaporators for them, so the deal was struck that the moisture farmers will be left in peace to gather their things and move on to new wells.
In a very interesting bit of news... Rohan went through with her plan to get rid of that red crystal. She threw it into the Sarlaac Pit as we flew over it. Some of the others caught her doing it, and she was pretty smooth with relaying the info without ratting me out. A part of me feels a bit guilty about not being open with that info, but as I'm not convinced we're rid of that thing, I can't show any weakness in my being able to handle the burden it puts on a person. With any luck, it's gone for good. That really would be the best.
I spent some time in meditation and practice while the others did whatever it was they were doing. Something about Davin being hired to bring a bounty in (I'm good with smuggling cargo, so long as it's not breathing, but gunning down people isn't my cup of tea) and it turning into a bit of a mess. Some Togruta apparently - and she got in on this mess because she was working with old HK on his ... whatever you call a droid's spirit journey... Long story short. HK is back, and this slicer got let off on account of being in good with HK.
With all of that taken care of we got back to work on looking for these locations that old war hero, Kenobi was hanging out at. Turns out some folks called him a wizard. And rumor has it he left the planet with Han Solo. You think he could be a jedi in hiding? Man if we could find him .... there's so much we could ask him. So much we could learn. Anyway, our first stop was this cave.
We get there, and there was this heavy feeling about it. Ripe with the force... but dark side force. I've felt the weight of both J, and this place is heavy with it. Lots of anxiety filtering in too. We find all kinds of violent iconography and such- evidence of rituals, of power cables, a shattered altar. Just creepy stuff. Dark stuff. There's another room where the majority of this force power seems to be emanating from, so I used the force to move some light into it. One of the icons etched in this room is a saber... There's this kind of sensation of seeing something then.
Screams like in a gladiator ring. Tuskans, Hutst and humans... a person in black with a mask, and another tied on the altar. A black crystalline sword. At the stage - an epic duel takes place between this masked man in black, with his red saber, against a man in brown and white robes wielding a blue saber. The one in blue wins, and cuts not only his opponent but into the altar. Next we see a man walking into the same area, greyed and with a beard, but with this confidence and poise.
We're all staring at this symbol on the wall... wondering what to do. I don't know that we should mess with it. Curiosity can be dangerous, especially when you don't know what you're dealing with. But the others all gave in and felt it was worth checking out. So... I did too.
I guess we'll see what happens.
If it's another of those dark-vision tests of the force... I'm not sure I'm ready for it.
